Entertainment, On A High Note

S&E Nashville CRS Interview: CJ Solar

If you haven’t heard the name, CJ Solar, you should be keeping an ear for him.

At CRS 2017, Solar told us of his journey through the last few years and how his journey has placed him with Sea Gayle publishing.  Sea Gayle saw the great potential in Solar and they have been actively working with him as both a songwriter and a performer.

To hear Solar sing with his edgy, earthy tones, you’ll feel flashbacks to perhaps a Brian Adams style edge encapsulated in a great singing range – or if you’re fortunate enough to know the name Jonathan Singleton, you might hear similar vocal styles coming from Solar – but with a strength that is very uniquely his own.

To boot, Solar is also a very accomplished guitar player – and by any assessment, even that of other guitar players, has a skill to be envied.

Solar released his new 5-song Live EP, No Sleep Till Nashville, on Fat Tuesday, exclusive to Spotify.  Further he’s gaining traction at radio with his single, “Just Another Day In The Country,” from his debut EP, Hard One to Turn Down.  Prior to the release date the song was the most added on Music Row radio charts (for an independent artist) and it is little wonder. Because Solar was named one of the “10 new country artists you need to know” by Rolling Stone in 2016, and has earned every ounce of recognition he is gaining.

We hope you enjoy hearing Solar in his own words – and hearing him sing the single from his new album, “Just Another Day In The Country.”
