You can’t argue with Mad Donna’s slogan “A Neighborhood Restaurant As Unique As East Nashville.” The charming restaurant fits perfectly into the East Nashville neighborhood bringing it’s own funky style to the table with menu items like the East Side Wrap and East Nash Beignets.
The casual, low-key restaurant is an East Nashville staple and you’re about to find out why.
Brunch is undoubtedly a favorite of Nashville locals on Saturday and Sundays, but at Mad Donna’s you can have brunch any day of the week – not just on the weekends. There are many brunch options in town to choose from, but Mad Donna’s offers selections only available here and is more affordable than most other places.
They feature a “Make Your Own Bloody Mary Bar” and 2 for 1 Mimosas that come in an array of flavors: black raspberry, peach, pineapple, pomegranate, and white grape (and of course the classic orange). Not only are the drinks spicy at Mad Donna’s brunch, but they spice up the typical French toast by coating their Captain’s French Toast with Cap’n Crunch and drizzling it with maple syrup and berries and serving it with bacon. French toast, Captain Crunch, and bacon all in one meal – yum! Oh, and don’t overlook the perfectly seasoned rosemary potatoes to go along with your delectable brunch meal.
Mad Donna’s also offers a wide array of lunch and dinner menu options. Favorites include Sweet Potato Enchiladas (spiced sweet potatoes wrapped in corn tortillas, topped with enchilada sauce, cheddar and jack cheese and cilantro corn hash), Ricotta Stuffed Chicken (stuffed with ricotta and baby spinach topped with a sherry-tomato cream sauce), and Teriyaki Tilapia (served over mixed veggies and jasmine rice with teriyaki sauce).
How do you choose?! The Wicked Wings of The East can be tossed in Yazoo Dos Perros Chipotle BBQ sauce which are certainly a uniquely Nashville flavor as the Yazoo Brewery is located right here in Nashville.
If you’re up for a challenge, order the Double D burger. You will certainly get your money worth ($17) and undoubtedly be full the rest of the day. The burger has two half-pound patties, three pieces of American cheese, four slices of bacon and topped with chili and crispy onions. If you see anyone eating the Double D burger be sure to cheer them on – it’s not an easy undertaking!
The upstairs in Mad Donna’s, the MD Loft, has some exciting events happening different nights of the week. Karaoke occurs every Friday night, Tuesday is BINGO night, and there is live music many other nights. Thursdays they have an ongoing special for a burger and beer for $8. Even with two floors of seating the place is usually packed, especially for brunch on weekends, so expect a worthwhile wait.
Between the great brunch specials, exceptional lunch and dinner items, and entertainment, it’s not hard to see why Nashville residents love the uniquely Nashville Mad Donna’s!
