Monell’s is Uniquely Nashville

Each of Monell’s four locations are certainly “Uniquely Nashville.” Monell’s delicious southern cooking is served family style in historic settings. More than just a restaurant, the Monell’s at the Manor location is also a beautiful, unique venue for special events like rehearsal dinners, weddings, and other celebrations.

Diners are seated on a first come first serve basis at a long table and then filled in by party to ensure all or most seats at each table are occupied. The communal style dining allows guests to make new friends as they pass each southern dish. As Monell’s says, “Enter as Strangers, Leave as Friends.”

Now, there are a few rules at Monell’s:

Take as much as you can eat, but eat all that you take.

Pass the bowls to the left.

No cell phone calls allowed at the table.

The menu is the same for everyone who dines each day, as there is no menu to order from. Rather, there are set prices and you can view the day’s menu upon entering. With changing menus every day you can visit each day of the week and not have the same thing twice. Once the table is full the servers will bring out each course in bowls for diners to share and enjoy. It is very similar to Thanksgiving dinner. Each meal includes their famous skillet fried chicken, meats of the day, hot southern vegetables, salad, drinks, dessert, and biscuits. Be sure to put the peach preserves on your biscuit! When a bowl gets low the servers will refill it so there is no reason to hold back. If you leave hungry there is no one to blame but yourself!

Menus are subject to change, but the standard menu they follow is:

Chicken and Dumplings and Meatloaf

Spinach Lasagna & Pot Roast

Pork Chops, Baked Chicken and Fried Chicken

Sliced Roast Beef w/ Gravy and Meatloaf

Friday Lunch:
Fried Catfish & Spinach Lasagna

Friday Dinner:
Add BBQ Ribs

Saturday Lunch:
Meatloaf & Pulled BBQ Pork

Saturday Dinner: Add Fried Catfish

Sunday Lunch:
Skillet Fried Chicken and Chef’s Choice of meats.

Monell’s also offers an incredible Weekend Country Breakfast that includes Smoked Sausage, Bacon, Biscuits and Gravy, Country Ham, Fried Apples, Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Hashbrowns, Cheese Grits, Skillet Fried Chicken, Corn Pudding, and Coffee. You get all of this for $14.95! Come hungry! They also have catering options.

The southern charisma, communal style dining, and great southern food makes Monell’s uniquely Nashville. Stop into one of the locations and bring your appetite!
