S&E Nashville recommends comedy, tours, and George Jones museum

If it’s been a long week and you’re in need of a few laughs, head over to Zanies Comedy Night Club for some stand up comedy. Chris D’Elia will be the main act on Friday. D’Elia performs at Hollywood Comedy Clubs several times a week and in 2013 he released a standup special for Comedy Central. D’Elia has also been on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. This is a great way to kick back and start the weekend off.

Nashville residents and visitors alike may wonder where local celebrities live. Well, the wondering can be put to rest with the Homes of the Stars Tour. This three and a half hour long tour takes guests through Nashville to discover where the stars actually live. Be sure to bring a camera – you may see Garth Brooks in his yard or Martina McBride unloading groceries. Other country stars’ homes you will see include Alan Jackson, Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Dierks Bentley, Kid Rock, and Kellie Pickler. This event is running through 2016.

Music in the Vines at Arrington Vineyards is happening through November. These live outdoor jazz shows feature local bands. Guests can listen to free music while enjoying their company and drinking Arrington’s award winning wines. There is limited seating provided so guests may still want to bring a blanket or chairs. This free, family friendly event is on Fridays and Saturdays from 5-9 p.m. and Sundays from 2-6 p.m.

A recent Nashville attraction to visit is the George Jones Museum. The museum celebrates Jones’ life and accomplishments. Choices Riverfront Restaurant and Bar is on the main level, the museum is on the second level, and there is also a rooftop bar. The rooftop bar boasts astonishing views of downtown Nashville, the Cumberland River, and LP Field.

Dig into your artistic side at Painting With A Twist at Natchez Hills. The studio provides the instructor and everything needed to paint. The event is at the Natchez Hills Winery so guests can grab a bottle of wine and paint the day away. The event is $35 from 3-5pm.
