Another festival happening this weekend is the 9th Annual Cumberland River Dragon Boat Festival. What is a dragon boat you may ask? Well, it is when 22 people dress up in costumes to get in one boat and paddle down the Cumberland River. Every paddler plays an essential role. Dragon Boat race dates back to over 23-hundred years ago and is still alive today because it is a fun and unique experience. Head out to watch the competitors race and see their neat costumes.

The Tennessee State Fair is kicking off tonight and running until September 20 at the Fairgrounds. Tickets to this annual event allow guests to enjoy fun, games, and festivities. This year’s theme is “Red, White, and You” which showcases the pride in our nation and the great state of Tennessee. The fair is an exhibit of how we live our lives and was created to promote education of agriculture, horticulture, the creative arts, performing arts, industry, commerce, recreation, economic development, natural resources, and related areas to the public. There is racing, rides, and great food at the fair so be sure to attend at least one of the ten days it is open this year!
