Entertainment, On A High Note

S&EN Easter weekend recommendations

Easter weekend is upon us and there are various ways to celebrate here in Nashville. All across the city, multiple venues are hosting festive activities to commemorate the holiday. Below are a handful that we suggest.

Spring Art Hop

Cheekwood is bringing the Easter fun with the 24th edition of Spring Art Hop. In addition to an hourly egg hunt (more than 30,000 eggs will be hidden throughout the property), there will be plenty of crafts, performances and much more going on all day. Attendees can look forward to a variety of garden games, face painting, art-themed activities and a myriad of musical performances and, of course, an appearance from the Easter Bunny. Plus, popular food trucks like The Grilled Cheeserie, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, Itty Bitty Donuts and more will be on hand.

When: Sat., March 26, 10am

Where: Cheekwood

Admission: $11 – $18 (children under 2 are free)

Easter Brunch – Country Music Hall of Fame

If you’re looking for a unique Easter brunch experience, head to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Family-style seatings will take place throughout the late morning and early afternoon, offering guests a delicious menu created by the museum’s executive chef, including everything from apple cider brined pork, Swiss steaks and shrimp and lobster to breakfast staples like waffles and scrambled eggs. After brunch, explore all the museum has to offer.

When: Sun., March 27, 10am

Where: Country Music Hall of Fame

Admission: $60 for adults, $25 for children ages 6-12, free for children 5 and under (ticket price also includes entry to the museum)

Oyster Easter

Fabulous food, beer and spirits are all in one place this weekend at the annual Oyster Easter event. In addition to a decadent Cajun buffet courtesy of SouthStreet, there will also be various spirits, complementary beer from Blackstone Brewery, wine from City Winery, and the main event – an all-you-can-eat oyster buffet. Guests can look forward to best-dressed competition for both men and women, so be sure to don your finest spring attire! Oyster Easter benefits the Community Resource Center, so it’s all for a good cause.

When: Sat., March 26, 1pm

Where: Travellers Rest

Admission: $65 in advance, $80 at the door

With the fourth weekend of the month comes the monthly flea market, taking over the Nashville Fairgrounds today and tomorrow with the fitting theme of “Down Memory Lane.” Explore the several hundred dealers that make their way to the market each month, bringing with them treasure troves of antique goods from furniture and home décor to leather products and every one-of-a-kind find in between.
