S&EN weekend recommendations

Spring in Nashville doesn’t just mean beautiful blooming trees and warm welcoming weather – it also brings along a host of lively events all around the city. This weekend provides a small sample of all Music City has to offer this season. Check out a few of our recommendations.

EdgehillRocksEdgehill Rocks

Enjoy some of Nashville’s best food and culture at this one-day music and food festival in the historic Edgehill neighborhood. Spend the day listening to live music while checking out a variety of vendors ranging from bottle cap art to fabulous food trucks including Sweet Home Nashville, Live Fashionable, TN Glass Stains, Bradley’s Creamery, The Grilled Cheeserie and so much more. The event also benefits ONE (Organized Neighbors of Edgehill), which works to enrich the Edgehill community.

The Triple Sip

Indulge in delicious food and drink tonight at the Nashville Farmers Market, where you’ll sample a plethora of wine, beers and spirits from the newly opened Village Spirits and Wine. Plus, enjoy hors d’oeuvres from the Loving Pie Company, Lucky Belly, Gigi’s Cupcakes and more of our wonderful local restaurants. Attendees can also look forward to a silent auction consisting of event tickets, trips and other exciting items. All proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Charities of Nashville, meaning all of your fun goes toward a noble cause.

Art Goes Alternative

Tomorrow, M Street presents art with a flare all day at The Rosewall. In the second installment of Art Goes Alternative, local and national artists are placed in the spotlight as they exhibit more than 50 uniquely designed skateboard decks. In addition to these pieces of art, there will also be a silent auction of custom-made dog sculptures, with all of the proceeds going toward Nashville-based Tiny Buy Mighty, a local charity that finds loving homes for dogs (half of the proceeds from the skateboard deck sales will also go to the charity).

Big Easy IPA tour

New Orleans comes to Nashville in the form of music, beer and Mardi Gras festivities this weekend. Today and tomorrow, the Big Easy IPA tour makes its way across Music City, bringing with it samples of the new Big Easy Session IPA from Abita Brewing Company, a combination of lemon, citrus and pine flavors, as well as music from the Young Pinstripe Brass Band, making you feel as though you’re walking the streets of New Orleans with their soul-filled jazz and funk sound.
