While there is always something unique and interesting going on in Music City, this weekend boasts a solid serving of events that are just that. Check out what intriguing activities are taking over Nashville in our weekend recommendations.

CarminaCarmina Burana

 Get ready for a truly spectacular weekend of dance, music and all things elegant, courtesy of the Nashville Ballet. Its production of “Carmina Burana,” a series of poems dating back to the 13th century focusing on the cycle of life, love and fortune, brings together almost 300 artists across the Ballet, Nashville Children’s Choir and Nashville Symphony. The event also marks the debut of “Layla & The Majnun,” a multi-cultural ballet that is reminiscent of the beautiful and tragic love story “Romeo and Juliet.” This is sure to be an unforgettable performance from our renowned Nashville Ballet.

Nashville Earth Day Festival

 Celebrate the beauty of our planet at Nashville’s Earth Day Festival. In addition to live music, exhibits and hands-on activities that work to educate civilians on how to protect our environment, attendees can look forward to a Green Market that offers locally made products and produce, a beer garden presenting local brews and more. There will be plenty of festival games for the kids, making it a family friendly event.

FashionArtMecca

Fashion Art Mecca

 A unique event where art and fashion come together, the Fashion Art Mecca is taking over various locations in Music City this weekend. Serving as a platform for Nashville’s underground artists, designers and brands, the mecca includes gallery crawls, pop-up shops, dance parties and more. With a weekend that includes an installation featuring local artists at Dream House Gallery, a ready-to-wear fashion showcase at TSU and the debut of the new collection from Nashville-based designer Isabel SK, Fashion Art Mecca brings Nashville’s underground art scene to the surface.

Ales&Tails

Ales & Tails Crawfish Boil

 This weekend, the Nashville Sports Leagues offers up a classic southern dish and a variety of prime brews at the Ales & Tails Crawfish Boil. Attendees can indulge in an old-fashioned crawfish boil that includes a pound and a half of fresh crawfish, delicious sides and an endless glass of premium beer. Those who choose to upgrade to VIP status are also treated to oysters, classic Bloody Mary’s, in addition to a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar featuring bacon, pickled okra and more.
