The weekend is upon us once again and with it comes a flurry of activity here in Nashville. Art, film and music all take over this week’s recommendations. And while SuperBowl Sunday is an event in and of itself, here are some other options to keep you entertained until the big kickoff.
First Saturday Art Crawl
With the first weekend of the month comes the First Saturday Art Crawl. Downtown Nashville is home to numerous amazing art galleries that exhibit the unique work of our city’s many gifted artists. Take in the Nashville’s diverse art scene as some of the best galleries in the area offer free admission to see these exquisite pieces. Esteemed places like Hatch Show Print, the Rymer Gallery, Tinney Contemporary and more are all taking part in the event.

The Belcourt Theatre – 2016 Oscar Nominated Short Films
Tomorrow and Sunday, the renowned Belcourt Theatre presents a series of short films nominated for this year’s Academy Awards. Among the cinema being shown are those in animation, live action and documentary. Just some of the films included are “Shok,” “World of Tomorrow,” “Body Team 12,” “Last Day of Freedom” and many more. See them before the golden statues are awarded on Sun., Feb. 28!

Listening Room Cafe’s 10 year anniversary
All this weekend, celebrate the 10th anniversary of one of Nashville’s premiere music venues. All day and night, party with The Listening Room Café as they celebrate 10 years of business with performances from the likes of Kristian Bush, Craig Campbell, Cole Taylor and a special live acoustic performance from Lonestar. Plus, indulge in a $3 beer draft from Yazoo Brewery and a specialty drink bar, among other perks. It’ll be a full day of incredible live music you won’t want to miss.

Get ready for something truly interesting, as 80s pop-rock band The B-52s make their way to Nashville to perform some of their biggest hits with the Nashville Symphony. Performing a myriad of songs ranging from “Summer of Love” to the classic “Love Shack” and every hit in between, the band will be backed by full orchestration in a “cosmic concert” like you’ve never seen before. If that wasn’t fun enough, there is even a pre-concert party before the show where you’re treated to an 80s dance party, specialty cocktails and karaoke.
