Thanksgiving is almost upon us and with it comes the official start to the holiday season! While the Christmas cheer has already begun to make its way into Music City, there are still many other kinds of events taking place to tie you over before the holiday rush. One of Nashville’s most lavish establishments is launching its Christmas makeover with the kickoff of A Country Christmas. Now through New Years,’ Opryland becomes a Winter Wonderland with an abundance of holiday-themed events. This weekend, enjoy activities like snow tubing, ice skating, beautifully decorated Christmas trees designed by various country stars, horse-drawn carriage rides around the hotel’s festive grounds and so much more. What better time of year to indulge in brews and barbeque than football season? Thankfully, the Nashville Sports League can hook you up at Brew-B-Q this Saturday. Enjoy local brews and a selection of spirits from Jack Daniels and Old Forester as you sample some of the best barbeque around. Attendees can take part in the People’s Choice Award, judging the various chicken and rib entries created by 15 backyard barbeque competitors. Your taste buds will thank you!

In between tastings, learn about the food scene in Nashville, along with taking in the architectural beauty of one of the city’s historic neighborhoods.

Exercise your body and mind as you explore different styles of yoga from local instructors and shop the marketplace featuring several community businesses. Learn all types of the therapeutic activity ranging from Kundalini to restorative yoga. Proceeds will benefit Nashville nonprofit Small World Yoga. It’s something different to do with your weekend and will free your mind in the process.

Beloved Nashvillian Vince Gill and STARS Nashville come together for the 7th annual music event at the Country Music Hall of Fame Event Hall. The evening includes a silent auction curated by Ron York, exhibiting more than 70 art works by artists both local and regional. Then be treated to a special performance by Vince Gill – you never know who he’ll bring on stage!
