It’s time for S&E Nashville’s latest installment of what we like to call “What Does Every Tourist See that We’ve Never Been To?” We’ve covered popular restaurants, we’ve covered music festivals, and we’ve covered day trips to area small towns.
Today we are going to tell you everything you never knew about sightseeing bus tours around town. If we were going to run a contest for the top event that every self-respecting tourist makes certain to see while in town, a bus tour would have to be near the top, if not the very tippy top of the list!
First on the list is the bus company that has been meandering around Nashville and Williamson County neighborhoods for nigh upon decades now. Gray Line Tours, which offers a surprisingly wide variety of options, ranges in tours from the classic Homes of the Stars to a day trip to Lynchburg or Memphis. One of our favorites would have to be the hop-on, hop-off tour of downtown Nashville in a classic red and green trolley car. They also offer a tour they call “Taste of Nashville Food Tour,” which is certainly calling our name! For a low fee, you can have a guided walking tour through Nashville, stopping to sample popular and well-kept secrets to Nashville’s best food!
You can’t experience Nashville quite like you can while in a seat on the NashTrash Tours, Nashville’s favorite tacky tour bus! If you’ve seen the bright pink bus around town, that’s them! The brainchild of Sheri Lynn and Brenda Kay, aka “The Jugg Sisters,” NashTrash Tours has been around since 1997, if you can believe it! We think it’s high time for us Nashville residents to see what tourists have loved for almost 20 years! You can experience “The Original Tour” with the Jugg Sisters, or you can also take a ride with Scott Pippin aka “Pip” on the Music Row Confidential. Either way, you’re bound to laugh hard and learn something new!
The last recommendation we have for informative bus tours around town would have to be the Redneck Comedy Bus Tour. Self-described as “Music City’s Brand New Tour,” this camo-encased bus tour has tours beginning at the Nashville Palace and the Whiskey Bent Saloon. As the Redneck Bus says themselves, “Come get redneck certified!”
If you’re looking for an undoubtedly funny experience and want to learn more about the city we all love and live in, you’ve got to try one of these fabulous bus tours! We just know you’ll love ‘em!
