Writing songs for artists such as Justin Moore and Jerrod Niemann and opening for national acts like David Allan Coe, Tyler Farr and Old Dominion, this artist has released his own EP titled “Hard One to Turn Down” and performed an incredible album release party at the Basement East recently. He is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and brings his brand of Cajun rocking country to the table.  He moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University, graduating with a degree in songwriting in 2014. He is currently signed to Sea Gayle Music, and is ready for the country music market.  CJ Solar is rocking country music and adding a little bit of blues along the way.

At the album release party, the crowd began to line up along the front of the Basement East with anticipation to see CJ Solar’s performance. Some fans traveled all the way from Louisiana to see his high-energy performance.

It was difficult to find a parking place, and in the process I met Deanna and Kelsey Fontenet who had traveled all the way from Louisiana to see Solar, even though they had already been to his release party in Baton Rouge.  After everyone got into the venue, the anxious crowd was ready for the show to start. They were not disappointed once it began.

The opening act was Brinley Addington and his band, which did an incredible job rockin’ the house.  They performed about seven songs, and then it was time for CJ Solar.  The crowd was on their feet the whole time, because Solar and his guys blew the roof off the place.  He performed his hit “Tall Boy” and many other songs, and they gave it all they had.  I believe he will have great success with this album.

CJ Solar began his career as a songwriter for Sea Gayle Music, co-founded by Brad Paisley and Chris DuBuois, and has had cuts by Justin Moore and Jerrod Niemann (including Niemann’s 2015 single “Blue Bandana”), among others, but now it is his turn to show what he can do in county music.

I foresee a long and prosperous career by this guy, and I wish him all the success in his future ventures.  If you would like to purchase “Hard One to Turn Down” visit his website. If you want to, you can like him on Facebook or follow him on Twitter.
