She is an Iowa native who was raised on a farm and she has been singing since she was a little girl. She first appeared on national television on an E! Entertainment Television reality TV show, The Entertainer, where she came in third. Advised by Wayne Newton to focus on country music in Nashville, that is exactly what she did.  She released her debut album, “Every Monday Morning,” in 2009, and her first single “Jack of Hearts” successfully made its debut on the CMT Top 20 countdown. We are going to take a look at up-and-coming country music artist Sarah Darling.

Darling’s music and life are grounded in faith and family life, and she sang in church from an early age.

“Being a Christian grounds my life and keeps me strong,” Sarah says, adding that her talent is among God’s gifts and she is determined to “use it to the fullest.” She has influences that come from gospel and traditional country music as well. “My grandfather was always one of my greatest influences. He listened to a lot of traditional country and encouraged me as well,” Darling describes.

Darling performs at the Opry as often as she can. “It’s always a thrill to perform at the Opry,” Darling describes, who has performed over 75 times since her debut in February 2011. Darling states that playing the Opry is like being part of an amazingly talented musical family. “It’s a stage that’s allowed me to become a better performer and a better person. I’m absolutely on cloud nine, playing the same stage as the artists that influenced my music like Alison Krauss and Shania Twain.”

Sarah’s small town upbringing brings memories of baking with her mother and grandmother.” Baking to me is therapeutic,” Sarah explains.” I love music and baking. It keeps things simple.”

She married James Muriel in April 2013 and found her life’s love. That same year she independently released her single “Little Umbrellas,” and in 2014 she returned to reality television on ABC’s Rising Star. She was ultimately eliminated in the fourth round, but celebrity judge Brad Paisley took notice and invited Darling to join him in an Opry performance.

She is now ready to take on the next chapter in her music career. The Black River Entertainment artist is set to release her latest album “very soon” and fans can pre-order it now.

The music business is hard but it brings an exciting life and this lady is ready for it. You can find more of Darling’s music on her website, or find her on Facebook and Twitter.
